If you’re in love and in high school, the following displays of affection are a-ok:

Love wears backpacks.
- Sharing earbuds on the bus.
- Creating lovey-dovey mix cds weekly, each with a new theme.
- Staying up until 4am just to talk about everything.
- Leaving elaborately folded love notes in each other’s lockers.
- Holding hands, and getting butterflies intertwining fingers.
- Identifying with the main character of every teen classic romance movie, because these movies are all about first loves.
- Squeezing into the same wing of the revolving door, just to stay close to each other.
- Making up obnoxiously affectionate nicknames for each other.
- Talking about ourselves with such passion that anyone would melt into our arms and instantly fall in love.
These things become less acceptable as we get older, but I do not understand why.
